Guatemalan Doll
Made in: Guatemala
Artisan Group: Believe
Meet your new best friend! Handmade with love in Guatemala, each doll is full of personality and charm. Bring a touch of culture and creativity into your life with this one-of-a-kind companion.
These dolls are dressed in traditional Guatemalan fabrics and clothing, which you'll still see worn throughout Guatemala today. The traditional Traje consists of the huipil (blouse), faja (sash), and corte (skirt). Mayan textiles, traditionally woven on a backstrap loom, are famous for their vibrant colors and beautiful patterns, and these fabrics express history and culture. The flowers on the dresses symbolize new life! Each doll is named after a unique feature of Guatemala. Jade in its most precious form is only found in four places in the world, and one of them is the mountain ranges of Guatemala. The Marigold flower is actually indigenous to Guatemala and was sacred to the Mayan culture. And Joel, well, he is the founder of Believe Guatemala!
