Leather Shoe Ornament
Made in: Haiti
Artisan Group: Deux Mains
In addition to leather handbags and accessories, FMSC MarketPlace partner Deux Mains also produces school shoes for children in Haiti. In Haiti, access to education is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty, but many children are unable to attend school simply because they don’t have proper footwear. School shoes are more than just a necessity—they’re a symbol of hope, opportunity, and a brighter future.
To help these students, Deux Mains artisans have made darling school shoe-shaped Christmas ornaments from the leftover leather scraps used to make the actual school shoes! All proceeds from the sale of these ornaments will go directly to school shoes for needy kids in Haiti this holiday season. Not only does this provide much-needed footwear for children so they can go to school, it also secures jobs for craftsmen and women at Deux Mains.
